wooden trellis will rot over the next few years and we the mugs who pay our council tax will have to pay to replace it whilst persimmon walk away with their millions. The council should impose an order on them that they need to build a proper brick wall and have done with it.

Saw the trellis for the first time yesterday - verdict, it looks cheap & tacky and does nothing to add to the pleasant ambience of Market Place - the developers (who I assume are responsible for this), should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and as for those who allowed it, they should resign for permitting such a trashy thing to be erected. This is in the centre of the village, highly visible on one side of Market Place - it belongs in the garden centre of B&Q where they'll probably go to pick up some cheap climbing plants. Obviously 'good taste' and 'design flair' are not phrases the developers have in their vocabulary.

They've not even taken the extra time to custom build the bottom of the trellis so it doesn't follow the slope, very poor. Huge tipper lorries parked on the yellow lines at the junction of Gold Hill North yesterday just before 8am causing a few problems for the traffic.

It's a free country, adopt whatever PC stance you want. Just don't tell me which stance I should take just because it clashes with your opinion. |

I am as saddened as everyone else who has posted about the wall and trellis. But what constructively can we do about it? If it was a local (or national) shop we could boycott it until changes were made, but with this outrage what are our options? There must be something we can do in addition to moaning on this site. Ideas for positive action to have this corrected are most welcome.
