The Zip fastener as we know it today was invented in 1913 by Gideon Sundback and patented in 1917 as the Separable Fastener.

The term "zipper" came into use in 1923.

Not many people know that.

Speak to Baird Leisure, I'm sure they get lots of phone calls about stuff like this.
I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

The Bass red triangle was Britain's first registered trademark in 1876. I learnt that from a beer mat in a pub a few weeks ago.
