I think that shop was owed by Mr. Harris
Yes, Mrs. Heath (not related to Heath Stores) Did work in Mr. Willoughby's shoe shop, this was next "Readers" And as converi says about the fish-n-chip shop, the fryer was on the left, the chairs were on the right behind a glass panel. |

i saw him just the other day i think. i still do eat mine out of newspaper, i use my own, health and safety gone mad. |

Colins Fish Bar - Bag of chips on way home from Guides.
Willoughbys - I f you bought Mckiltie (I think that's how it was spelt) sandals from there you then joined some club and Uncle Mac or Mr Mac (my memories not so good!!) sent you a birthday card each year. AAhh fond memories!! |

I remember the chippy. I was a cub and scout in the 60's and when they collected newspaper as a fund raising project selling it to the paper mill, me and my mate used to pinch a bundle and take it to the chip shop in exchange for free fish and chips
