just fell out of my copy of this weeks Bucks Ad ..not one, not two but THREE election leaflets , ALL for UKIP.

Immediately shoved in my recycling bin.

Did the Bucks Ad receive payment for these to be inserted?

EDIT> I have no objection to the Bucks Ad receiving payment for political advertising , but I'm wondering if they were actually aware these leaflets (all different ..I read that much) were inserted?

Strange, I didn't get any in my copy. I recieved three through my letterbox, one each for Labour, Lib Dems and UKIP. Funnily enough this is the second time that the Conservatives have never bothered me with a leaflet...perhaps they think the seat is far too safe to be worth bothering to spend money on!

I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

The editorial department does not have anything to
do with advertising or leaflet distribution. The
relevant commercial departments deal with these
matters.
All advertising and leaflet distribution is paid for.
Political parties are allowed to spend their
advertising budgets however they see fit.
Election regulations require the editorial department
to represent each political candidate equally and
fairly which can be seen within the news pages this
week.

I read the Chesham & Amersham and Beaconsfield candidates responses to the questions posed. Some responses seemed shorter than others - I assume this was because some people had wittered on (notably our current incumbent) and not because of any editing?

There was no editing at all of any of the responses to
the questions. Each candidate was advised to keep
their response as concise as possible. Most of the
responses were pretty much of equal length,
however, one was significantly shorter than the
others and was invited to write a little more if he
wished and he declines as he was happy with what
he had written.
As each candidate was treated in the same way then
the Advertiser has complied with election
regulations.
In pieces we write, such as the profiles last week,
we make sure they're of identical length.
I personally wrote the profiles of the four
Beaconsfield constituency candidates and the word
counts were identical.

I'm wondering if the leaflets were shoved in by the manager of the shop that sold the paper then?

That may well be the case Eddie. Unfortunately I am
not able to answer your question to any greater
extent than I already have.

More information received the better, I hope you read them Eddie.

I have got leaflets from all parties through the front door, strangely I got two identical one's from the labour party on different days.

I hate getting leaflets in newspapers I have to say, especially when they fall out as you pick the paper up.

Dear Eddie,

Organisations etc can pay to have leaflets inserted
into the newspaper.

This is arranged through our distribution
department.

Peter

Do you do advertising insertions again now then as I was told you didn't do them any longer (a while ago now).

Andy,

Some time ago there was an issue with insertions.
However, we are now able to do them again.

Anyone wanting more information can call our
distribution department on 01923 421100.

Cheers,

Peter
