This is a great website as it has every name and address in the Chalfont and GX area dating back to the 1900's, you can see what shops there was and who lived in your house before you..

some one called Taylor lived in our house our neighbors was an E. lane on one side and a Markham the other side...dont know who they were ?

Also in Lovel road there was the Oxford Fish Bar, the proprietor was A.I Silvan

Pennington Road not mentioned Steve, Boundary Road mentioned in 1940, and a relation ( The Nash family )  at 51 Lovel Road in 1940 as well.

Leachcroft I believe was built just after the war - I guess that's why it's not mentioned.

Pennington road was built in the mid 50's. i think

also the top end of lovel road the houses only goto upto numner 48 , i think the numbers go upto somelike 99 now..

Yeah, it's a shame.

I think our place was built in the '60s sometime, not sure exactly when.

It does say somewhere on my wall under the wallpaper though.  It's quite a good read, as the walls have bee written all over and it gets well preserved under all the paste.

I'm sure ReTro that in a hundred years or so Time Team will be making a whole programme on the history of your home when they uncover your walls scrapping the wall paper back one layer at a time

yeh, it should all say who built it and what year with little comments on
