The Cricket Club is holding a fair August Bank Holiday, and I am talking to one of the organisers, in the hope that we can bring back the Chariot Race.

As in the 'old days' you make your own chariot - pram - whatever as long as it has wheels!

It will, hopefully be held on the service road leading to the Cricket Ground and then once round the field over an obstacle course.

My idea is that each pub, some businesses and shops enter.

Bright ideas for course are welcome and a theme for the race.

That should get you all going

I remember doing that race when I was about 15. We used an old pram. Me, Dave Justice (Apple from Randalls brother), Ron Powell, Denis Eshelby, Will Stone , Mick Tombs, probably a few more.

I remember Johnny Pink (the Wolves fan) had a pram team too

They say Kesey's dead; But never trust a prankster;even underground.

I can remember the Chariot Race as a kid but never entered it.  It would be great to get it going again.  Bring a bit of life back into the village.
