Thanks for getting my point...

Obese person watches plane take off

No man is an island and smokers are no longer allowed on planes. They have accepted this as it interferes with the comfort of other passengers. Obesity isn't normal and neither is smoking, therefore should concessions must be made by these people|?

No, concessions should be made by the airlines not to try and pack people in like veal crates and allow enough room for people to sit.

As far as smoking goes on planes, it was because smokers killed a number of people through their dirty habit that smoking was banned on planes.

Was it Manchester airport?

First time it was proved that smokers kill others than themselves even though it has long been suspected.

Virgin Atlantic has paid £13,000 to a passenger who was permanently injured when she was squashed by an obese woman sitting next to her on a long haul flight.

Barbara Hewson, from Swansea, south Wales, suffered a blood clot in her chest, torn leg muscles and acute sciatica and remains in pain two years on.

As a smoker and I freely admit that my habit should not be tolerated on public transport, because it causes a health hazard to others. I also pay a tax justified to compensate the NHS. It may be harsh to compare an obese person to a smoker, but their condition is 9 times out of ten a self inflicted ailment.

May be the government should consider adding higher tax band onto the obese, as is charged to smokers …

The only proper way to lose surplus weight is to eat less.Exercise is just an added bonus that helps your health in other ways.
