Sure there used to be a Mr Macintosh at the CSP Middle School when I went there in the early 80's. From my poor memory, he was very tall - but I think everyone was tall to me.

Drives me mad too, Watsy - the planners don't seem to be making any good use of our brownfield sites.
I have been trying to follow CDC's thinking on the areas they are going to release for more housing developments in the village and I just cannot see any logic or evidence of sensible planning.  Seems that another 200+ houses are set for up next to the Paccar Scout Camp in the very near future - again, is that a sensible site?!?
On the CDC website, they are currently advertising for a new Head of Planning - offering a salary of £67,259 - £78,818(!)
Think that means that the developments popping up all over CSP will be better planned?!?  Disapprove

I cannot understand why Winkers was halved, yet they are recommending building on green belt almost next door at Paccar as you say.  I guess I could read through the planning notes for a proper explanation...

My thoughts are that it is the councillors not CDC that are at fault.  We need a decent planning officer as private sector (developers) are much better paid - you get what you pay for.  The head of planning will probably pay for itself too if they are able to convince councillors not to block perfectly acceptable developments and avoid the costs of appeal.  I think I was told that successful planning appeals against CDC are in the 70s% so that is a lot of cost that could be avoided and hence the officer will pay for themselves in no time (assuming councillors can be persuaded to vote in line with planning recommendations). I cannot find any evidence on-line to back that statistic up though - can anyone in the know back that stat up or am I wildly off?

Who taught at Seer Green? My all time favourite teacher, my first teacher when I moved into the area, a very good man. Retired about 4 years ago I believe.

I knew him, before he even started school. Was trying to remember what his father was involved in. Was he invold with one of the local football teams?

I wouldn't exactly call Nick Clegg a 'great gent' - I'd call him a lying Lib-Dem politician who having said he wouldn't support an increase in university fees immediately agreed to double them on assuming the title of Deputy PM. Cynical or what?
His family used to live in Orchehill Avenue, opposite GX Tennis Club. My Dutch girl-friend at the time was the Clegg's au pair.

The problem will never be fixed unless demand is sorted out by spreading the demand across more of the UK. The challenge then becomes, lower demand, lower prices, negative equity in current high house cost areas like CSP.
