Thats what I do Eddie but the framming of the photo is not the problem its the focus, the IF light travels at a different frequency to visible light and the focus is off by about 1/8 of a  turn. what I have done in the past is with out the filter focus on something a long way (infinity) and then with the filter focus on the sun, mark the differents between the two on the lens. so when I frame a photo with out the filter and focus it, when I screw the filter back on I then move the focus off by the marks on the lens, Ive only had to calibrate the focus this way the once (as the marks are on the lens I use with this filter.

Lee you are right about the location, top of Gold Hill looking towards the security shop
