Bank Holiday Family Fun 2018

Bank Holiday family fun for waggy-tailed dogs and budding scientists

Epilepsy Society is opening its doors for an afternoon of free family fun and futuristic science on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August from 2-4pm.

The family event at the centre in Chesham Lane, Chalfont St Peter, combines an exciting dog show and agility course with a chance for visitors to take a tour of the charity's cutting edge research laboratories.

Regular favourites will include face painting and garden games, and children will have the chance to meet Paw Patrol’s popular puppy, Chase - on hand to take control and have a cuddle. Visitors will also be able to buy afternoon tea and treats from a pizza van.

Tours of the research laboratories offer the opportunity for people to see some of the pioneering technology used by Epilepsy Society to learn more about the workings of the brain and how DNA contributes to health. Tours will take place every half an hour between 2-4pm and must be booked in advance at epilepsysociety.org.uk/familyfun or call 01494 601414.

Tours of the laboratories are free but, due to health and safety, the charity cannot admit children under 16 or pets. There will a maximum of five visitors per tour.

The dog show will be hosted by Doberdayz and categories are: best puppy; prettiest bitch; most handsome dog; best junior handler; waggiest tail; and best rescue.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for visitors to let their dogs try out the agility course.
