the squirrel in Penn Street.

fantastic family friendly pub....

its clear to see why this pub has won the family friendly chiltern pub award for several years....

friendly staff and a nice garden with play area, great 'mini squirrel' childrens menus in 2 portion sizes ( toddlers plates and bigger kids plates )

we went as part of a group - with children from 8 months up to 12 yrs old... all were very welcome !

we were given colouring in books, pens and gear for kids to draw while waiting for food...

there is an imaginative menu for the little ones from plates of ' finger foods like carrot sticks, cucumber, tomato wedges, cheese and grapes through to classic pub favourites for kids and adults alike - like sausages, jacket potatoes, fish, home made burgers, to chicken and bacon salads, vegetable strudel, baguettes and freshly made sandwiches..they also do traditional sunday roasts....
the 'squirrel burger' was fantastic, one of the best i have ever tasted....served with salad/ leaves, home made coleslaw, fries and beer battered onion rings and all that for about £9 !

first time we have been and the experience was really child friendly- i would happily go back

great home cooked food, great ales and beers on tap and a great place to go with kids in tow.......

well done the squirrel !

I'll tell you an interesting story about the squirrel next time we meet up Baggles!
I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.
