Has everyone received Chiltern District Council's leaflet about their housing proposals - in th epost, blue banner, entitled HOUSING FOR OUR DISTRICT.
Or has anyone NOT received it?
Their earlier consultation (2008) was seriously flawed and not engaging, no-one seemed to know about it, but even then the results were ignored in reaching their decision. Thanks to pressure from you, the parish council, and SENSE, the latest version shows a fall in the number allocated to Chalfont St Peter, from 800 to 600, but this is still FAR too many. It comes with a response form. They say that any comments made before this will not be taken into consideration, so it's very important to reply, and to object.
They request that you read a 100+ page complex document and when raising a query make reference to the page, section and paragraph number. If you object, ignore that, and simply say:
- NO to question 1, you do not support the imposition of so many house here
- YES to question 2, you want the strategy changed
- and any comments/reasons at questions 3, 4 or 5. That can cover infrastructure, schools, traffic, drains, policing, too many houses (12% increase, almost at a stroke since it is two HUGE building sites), too dense (3 times existing levels), whatever you feel. But please do respond.
If there are two or more adults in the household, copy the response form and send in under each name, I suggest.

That's the answer - what's the question?

At a meeting at CDC earlier this week about their consultation:
1. they confirmed that they WILL accept comments from people even if they do not quote page/chapter/section numbers
2. they confirmed that they WILL accept comments from more than one person per household, so if there is more than one adult per household you should either copy it and send one per adult, or request another copy from Chiltern District Council
This 'consultation' closes 23rd April, so please send your responses by then. We must aim for a more equitable distribution of the new homes - some parishes, such as Great Missendedn (where the head of CDC Planning lives) happen to have NO new houses dumped on them. Well well.
Also there is the Gerald Eve planning Aplication for Holy Cross/ The Grange to object to, and that needs to be done by the END OF MARCH.
Please send objections to: Carol Castle, Planning, CDC, King George V Road, Amersham. HP6 5AW or e-mail at: planning@chiltern.gov.uk IMPORTANT: Please copy your objection letters to all of your District Councillors click here for their names and e-mail addresses. For more information about the appeals, go to: object@sense4csp.org Please remember: they rely on people's apathy - get objecting! |
