This years Chalfont St Peter window dressing competition organised by the Chamber of Commerce coincided with Halloween and the winners took full advantage of combining the “In the Pink” theme with a display that showed witches, cauldrons, pumpkins, cats and spiders all enjoying themselves!

The “In the Pink” theme is because the event is run to promote awareness and to fund raise for Breast Cancer Awareness.

This years winners were Barrington Property who, remarkably have now won the competition three years in succession. Fine & Country were runners up with Flowers Unique highly commended.

Chamber President Michael Day, who judged the competition along with Parish Council Chairman Richard Allen, said “Once again the team at Barrington Property excelled themselves with a superb display although Fine and Country ran them a close second. Clearly the local estate agency community value the community involvement, charitable contribution and PR benefits of taking part.

Many of the displays this year were of high quality with twelve separate businesses taking part and I would like to thank them all for making the effort to get involved.”

Participating businesses included: Barrington Property; Fine & Country: Flowers Unique; Vantage; Sera Evening Wear; House of Cards; Myrtle Tree; Bramptons; Barnados; Fake It, Kalceo and Activity Chest.

The next major event in the village is the Christmas Fun Night on Friday 4th December which the Chamber of Commerce is organising and which will feature music and entertainment from the Chalfont Wind Band, Gold Hill Vocal Group and local schools, a kiddies Fun Fair, a selection of stalls running competitions and selling food, christmas cards and other items and the vast majority of shops opening late and providing customers with a unique, fun and festive opportunity to see what is on offer locally.

Market Place will be closed and flood lit for the evening to help make the event even more special this year.

Further details or last minute opportunities to take a stall can be discussed with Michael Day on 07717 295369 or by email at cspchamber.org.uk
