CLEAR UP IN CHALFONT ST PETER

The Chalfont St Peter Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) and Chiltern District Council Community Safety Team will be running a clear up in Chalfont St Peter on Saturday 2nd June between 10am and 3pm.

The event is part of ongoing work towards arson and burglary reduction targets in the District and Residents Associations, community groups and volunteers will be clearing footpaths, cleaning graffiti and doing litter picks throughout the day.

The event will be based at Chalfont Leisure Centre in Nicol Road where there will be Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), Crime Reductions Advisors, Bucks Fire and Rescue Service Officers and Community Safety Officers on hand to answer questions and offer information and advice on home security, crime reduction and fire safety.  There will also be an opportunity to meet some of your local councillors between 10am and 12pm.

We would like to invite all local residents to come along, find out more about the event and/or seek some crime reduction and fire safety advice.  The first 100 visitors will receive a free timer switch and UV marking kit and the next hundred will all receive a free UV pen to security mark your property.  We also welcome anyone who would like to get more actively involved and there will be a free BBQ from 12pm for all the volunteers.

Can probably do an hour or so inthe morning - will see you there.

I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

I could only make the first two hours, but in that time we had painted over the graffiti, cleared litter, cleared leaves, thinned trees and shrubs and made a good start on taking the path back from and inch think layer of compost down to the tarmac!

Thanks to everyone who turned up, especially whoever kept giving out the water! Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

Day went brillint thanks!
Thanks to DanW for pitching up and representing the forum! We had about 50 volunteers in total, plus the Leachcroft Community Association working on the alleyways in Leachcroft.
A number of young people working on the skate park and the play area on Gold Hill.

It went really well, lots of work done, and made the place look a little better - we'll be planning another one sometime - anyone got any ideas on what area we could work on next??

We'd have helped but with only 1 days notice (notice on this forum) we'd got other plans.  Thanks to everyone who helped make our village nice.  We do our bit daily picking up fish n chips and chinese containers from the common, but realise there's plenty more out there.
