You need to get rid of the image of prunes only being eaten by old people with false teeth to keep em regular. I saw Rick Stein make this on TV ages ago and it always goes down well.

Agen prunes - soaked in approx 3 tablespoons brandy for a couple of hours
shortcrust pastry
50-100g ground almonds (the more you put in the nicer the taste)
1 egg
200ml tub of creme fraiche
50g caster sugar

roll out pastry and line a tart tin - loose bottomed ones are best - and blind bake at 200C for around 15 mins
mix creme fraiche, egg, sugar, and almonds.
drain the prunes - adding the brandy to the almond mixture - and place prunes onto pastry base.
pour over the almond mixture
lower over to 190C and bake tart for 45 minutes. Puch a skewer in the middle. If it comes out clean the tart is done.
cool slightly and serve in wedges with more creme fraiche
