We gave our son choice of location for a meal out and he chose here (his coach had gone past it on a school trip!). This in preference to an Indian in CSP, pizza, Chinese etc.
It looks a bit shabby from the outside. Staff are Aussies and friendly. Beer is Courage and was OK but nothing fantastic. Wines quite varied and reasonably priced. Food was (by and large) very good indeed. The stuffed red peppers and whitebait in particular were above expectations; the only downside was the quality of meat in a burger - about Tesco's frozen 'look and feel' rather than prepared in-house. Service was fairly informal and good.
We went midweek. Quiet from 7:30 to 9:00 but then reasonably busy.
2 course meal for 3, including drinks and tip £43. Good value for money. Would go again.
