Did anyone recognise the 2nd war aircraft that flew over Chalfont approx.12.15 today. Three white painted stripes under the wings.

Edited. Hopefully my meaning is more obvious.

D-day invasion markings. Possibly one of the D-day commemorative flight aircraft - Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster, Dakota or Chipmonk.

First three I think most would recognise then the Dakota is twin engined and the Chipmonk a single engine.

anyway on a related topic, I popped into the G on 6 June (the famous 70th anniversary) and said to a young barmaid “It’s D Day today” and the reply I got was “ What’s that?”. After 10 mins of trying to explain, I said: “have you seen Private Ryan?”. Oh yes she said. And the latest: a few days ago one of the staff asked a friend: “am I right in thinking that world war 2 ended in 1960?”. If this generation is going to lead us into Brexit we are all in trouble!

What a comprehensive web site. Think I might nudge my other half to take me on a visit.
