Many people inadvertently go over the limit for sometimes only a few minutes. As the majority of drivers break the speed limit, it shows the limits are often too low.

Pleased to see the A40 reduction to 50 mph westbound has reverted to 70mph.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that if motorists are warning other road users there's a speed trap, it completely defeats the object of having one. The whole idea of a speed trap is to deter speeding, something which is obviously needed locally considering the amount of people on here who think that they're entitled to drive over the limit, and it's not going to be much of a deterrent if people can avoid speed traps.

By the way, warning other motorists of a speed trap constitutes obstructing a police officer.
Oh right!! So we re not to intervene if we see an offence being commited, so next time i see 2 officers being thrown around by a drugged up lunatic in Watford i wont help them deck him like i did last time ill stand and watch so as not to "obstruct a police officer."
By flashing you re lights you re saying "oi slow down" and ive done that on a few occasions where theres no speed trap anywhere around.

This discussion isnt about people being fined for speeding its about them being fined for that heineous crime of flashing their headlights. Also one poster on here says he often honks his horn and shakes his fist when he sees someone driving on their phone. Is that not the same sort of thing?

I personally would rather the police did something about the idiots who use their mobile phones while driving. Every single day while driving to work I see at least 4 or 5 people doing this.  To my mind this is more dangerous than speeding but it's more difficult to spot, so i have no doubt the police will still continue to target speeders or people flashing their lights, which is the easier option
Weekends are a bit like rainbows. They look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them.

Depends how fast you are going!
I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.
