The full list of cameras being switched off is:
A413 Wendover Road, Aylesbury;
A4146 Fenny Road, Stoke Hammond;
A4146 Leighton Road, Edlesborough;
London Road, Aston Clinton;
Waterside, Chesham;
A355 Green Man Hill, Farnham Royal;
B470 Iver Lane, Iver;
A41 Bicester Road, Kingswood;
A412 North Orbital Road, Denham;
A40 London Road, High Wycombe.

Why do they publish a list of cameras that are turned off? Surely simply turning them off and not telling anyone would allow them to act as a warning to motorists to check their speed and have the same effect as leaving them turned on

Yes, thats exactly what I was going to say! If motorists dont know which cameras are nt working then they ll slow down for them all.

Speed bumps cost lives. The aim is to cut deaths, not increase them.

I believe it was a joke. And I would ask how on earth speed bumps can cost lives, but don't want to start yet another debate on that subject

It's usually the delay caused to Ambulances either getting to an emergency or getting a patient to hospital.
