The next VDS Village Design workshop is this Saturday (7th) and will be at The Community College in Narcot Lane, starting at 10am.  This is about the whoe village.

There will be a specific discussion about the developer's plans for the Holy Cross site - what they call 'The Grange' - attended by Peter Dines from their developing agency.

That's the answer - what's the question?

That very much depends on who answers the question. If it is the PC, you will have a biased view of some xenophobic middle-Englander, who resists change to the core. Some of them would rather we were back in Victorian times, having to tug at forelocks and doff caps as they pass by. LOL

Oh dear Flyboy, get rid of the chip on your shoulder. At least the PC is willing to get off it's ****, stand up and be counted and try to do something positive for the local community. If you don't agree, get off your ****, do something POSITIVE, come up with CONSTRUCTIVE ideas that others will support as a cohesive and benificial way forward.

As for xenophobia (fear of that which is different from oneself), that might explain a lot of things!

The house on the front used to be isolated on the beach front. Then they build a few houses near to it.  "Don't worry" they said, "it's only a few houses, it won't affect us".........

This guy had a house on the beach, not far from the other chap. He was told he was being a "nimby" for not allowing a few houses to be build nearby. Note how the path stops a few feet from his property and starts again the other side.  They couldn't demolish the house, so they built around it.

Same thing happened to Hill Farm House in Chalfont St Peter.  Eventually Hill Farm House was demolished, I guess this person only has a few years left.

An agenda should be posted on the VDS website:
where lots of other background information can be found.

Broadly the plan is for the first hour to be an update on what the group has done and is planning, and on 'news', with questions from the floor.  As last time, the rest of the time will be on practical matters working towards a village design statement, gathering and interpreting information - a workshop format.  Plans to finish about 3pm, but people are free to come and go.

If memory serves - a Grade 2 listed building that they had to develop around. Then a mysterious fire, following which the building had to be demolished. It was a lovely place in it's day.

Yes, at first they just build nearby, then got closer and closer. It was going to be demolished and rebuilt at the Chiltern Open Air Museum but never happened.

Can anyone see the photos I posted? I can't from this pc. Confused
