I wonder if Fivelive, a former Parish Councillor, would like to comment on this?
I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

Hey Flyboy... God save us from the Parish Council.  They might cut a hedge or change a light bulb or even worse pick up some litter. Run for the hills!  Do you actually know what Parish Councils  do or are you so wrapped up in your conspiracy theories you've lost sight of reality ? I think it's the District Coucil you just might need to be more concerned about... unless you are really worried about that lamp post that needs attention. http://www.nalc.gov.uk/About_NALC/What_is_a_parish_or_town_council/What_is_a_council.aspx

So, has everyone seen SENSE now?
The silence is deafening!
Come on, let's hear what you think.
If in doubt:

That's the answer - what's the question?

Things you need to do to help fight this:

Decision time is close for the development proposals.  The Parish Council has written in the strongest possible terms to CDC, with a list of challenges, but the CDC planners and Councillors will pay most attention to vociferous residents, so please register your objections directly - at their meetings and in writing.

There are three key CDC meetings coming up, open to the public, all at Council Offices, King George V Road, Amersham  HP6 5AW:
- 21st (changed from 27th at the last minute by CDC) January at 6:30pm - Housing and Planning Committee meeting, which considers proposed policies such as the Draft Core Stategy (that's the 700-800 houses for CSP) and recommends them to CDC Cabinet.
- 2nd February at 2:00pm – the CDC Cabinet meeting which will decide on the housing proposals, so this is the most important meeting.
- 23rd February at 6:30pm – the full CDC Council meeting.  On matters as important as this the full CDC Council have to ratify (or can overturn) decisions - so even if the Cabinet doesn't recommend the existing Draft Core Strategy proposals, the Council could overturn that decision.

So, two things YOU can do NOW to help stop the developments being approved by CDC:

1. attend any of these meetings and make your views clear.

2. Write/e-mail to the relevant planners and your CDC Councillors to make sure they hear your objections.  They are:

- Carol Castle, Head of Planning Services, Chiltern District Council,  at      King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW or e-mail to  ccastle@chiltern.gov.uk

- Councilor Nick Rose, CDC cabinet member for Planning and Transport, at Rose Cottage, Ballinger, Great Missenden, HP16 9LE or e-mail to  nrose@chiltern.gov.uk

- Councillor John Warder, leader of Chiltern Ditrict Council,
Chalfont View, Lincoln Road, Chalfont St Peter  SL9 9TJ or email to jwarder@chiltern.gov.uk

- Councillor Linda Smith, Deputy Leader of CDC at King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW or e-mail to  LSmith@chiltern.gov.uk

- Councilor John Wertheim, 52 School Lane, Chalfont St Peter, SL9 9BB or e-mail to jwertheim@chiltern.gov.uk

Has a planning application been received by the council and if so, where can it be viewed?

No, not as of 31st December.
This fight is against the CDC's Draft Core Strategy proposals, of which Holy Cross is a part.

A statement today from our MP Cheryl Gillan about the CDC housing proposals shows that she is now very much on our side and actively fighting.
The statement is (presumably) sent to those who wrote to her about these threats - so some of you may already have seen this.

"I am determined that together we will ensure that Chalfont St Peter is not over-developed and more importantly that you as residents are included in and fully consulted on all proposals."

She will be at the public meeting Saturday 13th February 10:30 at the Community College.

It demonstrates that pressure from te public does work.

And we have alreay got CDC to reduce their proposals for Chalfont St Peter from nearly 800 for around 600 (including Newlands Park, which CDC have suddenly listed separately in their new document in an attampt to make it seem like less of an impact on he village - disingenuous or what!).  But that's still FAR too many and too dnse - the fight goes on.

And we have got them to change their minds about public consultation and they plan to do something (properly this time I hope) in the coming weeks.

And we have forced them to reconsider the possibility of a school land site swap.

And we have lots of other challenges lined up: English Heritage (how many of you have written to them to request The Grange become a listed building?), Sport England (playing fields), The Victorian Society, Wildlife sciaties, and so on.

Don't let apathy set in and force you out of this lovely village.  The powers that be rely on apathy - keep speaking up!

And have you joined the Chalfont St Peter group in FACEBOOK?

Good meeting yesterday morning, something like 450 people in attendance.  Seems the Parish Council are doing an awful lot of work on our behalf, but we have a lot of battles still to fight.  Anyone else there?  What did you think?

Just received the letter from Gerald Eve regarding the revised plans for The Grange site, and whilst the proposed reduction in height and in the number of dwellings is a step in the right direction, there are, within the letter, some very vague statements.

"Agreement in principle with Bucks County Council to provide a contribution to provision of additional local school places"  How big a contribution, where are the places going to be, in CSP, Beaconsfield or Amersham, and if CSP where and how are they going to be provided, where can they build more 1st and 2nd school classrooms?

"Drainage/Sewage situation is being progressed   (I assume therefore not resolved) connections can be made to the local infrastructure with improvements to the existing infrastructure" The improvements to the existing infrastructure needs to be completed before the housing is completed, it must not be something that is done when Thames Water gets around to it otherwise we will have flooding and overloaded drains, with sewage coming up in Lower Road again.

In the past developers have said all sorts of things to get the development through planning but 2 or 3 years down the line they conveniently forget or sidestep their obligations. Things then get passed between the County Council, the Water Authorities the Education department, everyone blames everyone else and nothing gets done.

There needs to be a timetable for these "enhancements" which can be monitored by the people affected, namely us.
