I swiped a load of old pictures from the Bucks CC website, am going to print them at some point and perhapsd frame them, very interesting to see Chalfont in photos over the last 100 years or so:

interesting Dan.Thanks.

I found a photo with Me and the Missus in it! (sitting outside The Apple Tree)

This photo is the junction of Lower Road and The Kings Way. I lived in the 4th of the first block of terraced cottages from birth until 1953. The house is now known as 68 Lower Road but then it was called 4 Park View Cottages.

Of the four houses, three were occupied by my family and had been since the 1890s. One of them is still occupied by a cousin of mine.

The old lamp-post on the right was, I believe, on the corner of the old entrance to Chalfont Park although it is possible that I am mistaken and the entrance is just out of picture.

Chalfont Photographic is selling a selection of old Chalfont St. Peter photographs with all profits going to the League of Friends at the Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross Hospital.

Lots of interest over Christmas, it has been suggested that if we can get enough photos we would be able to hold an exhibition, so dig out those photos.

Old group shots, such as school, football and cricket teams would be of great interest.

The Cricket Club in CSP have lots of old photos on the walls, some pre WWI I think. I can always bring them down if you want to take copies.

Good Ideas DanW. and Watsy.  If we go ahead with the exhibition thinking that June may be a good time,  perhaps the weekend of Chalfont St. Peter Feast Day.

I have just taken pictures of more or less every shop in CSP - few missing at the mo, but a few more will be done tomorrow.

The thing about hosting the show at the sports club is that it is slightly off the beaten track - especially if combined with feast day. Snappy - if you know who is organising this then let me know if I can help!

The Village Hall is "family friendly". Perhaps they could host it?
