My apologies this has taken a little while to write up - but here is an outline of the purposes of the NAG To improve the quality of life for the residents of Chalfont St. Peter by prioritising the resources of partner agencies in resolving the priorities set by the residents of Chalfont St. Peter. At the public meeting in April 2006 these priorities were: 1) Anti-Social Behaviour 2) Speeding 3) Littering (inc. flytipping) How doe the NAG work: Every 6 weeks the NAG meets with these three community priorities in mind. We work through an issue by looking at the evidence we have of the problem, i.e. reports to police, public consultations, police surgeries etc. We then look at what might be underlying causes or characteristics of the particular issue, we look at how previous responses to the issue have worked (or not worked). Once we have done this we then list as many different possible responses to the issue - ranging from short-term responses to the underlying long-term responses. This generates a list of actions points which the particular agency is responsible for. By the next meeting they are to have completed that action point, and looking for ways to move that particualr solution forward. At subsequent meetings we look at the responses and evaluate them and develop them as necessary. Memebrs of the NAG: The NAG was drawn up from members of the Partner Agencies - such as Chiltern DC, Bucks CC, TVP, CSP Parish Council, CSP Youth Centre, Bucks Fire, Local Businesses, and members of the local community. The minutes of each meeting are posted on the CDC website (and a link will be placed here). At the moment the meetings are closed, simply because the larger the committee the more difficult it is to get things done. There will be another public meeting in the next 6 months where by we can present some of the outcomes of the NAG and look at our priorities and if they have changed at all. |
