Topic: The Tabla Posted: 25 April 2005 at 9:16am |
Hmmm, yesterday's curry wasn't up to much. Lacking in flavour somewhat. Back to the Sreethi for me next time.

I prefer wine with food although I suppose I could manage a Cobra or two.

Had quite a nice meal although I thought the chicken was a little tough and the food wasn't as warm/hot as I would have liked.
Presentation was good and my dinner guests seemed to enjoy it.
I still prefer Sreethi for the actual food but Tabla for the decor.
The Tripti when I tried it for the first time 2 years ago was a little bland. Perhaps I should give it another go.

The only thing wrong with the tabla is they do not have the little heaters to keep food warm, so it goes colder quicker and the bacardi is expensive.

Have to say the Garlic nan bread was plain with gerlic grated on top and grilled. The garlic burnt and no garlic flavour in the nan. A bit disapointing, but did not spoil the meal.

Sreethi is the best in the village but Tabla isn't too bad as long as they learn to add up correctly.

Went down to Tabla on Friday 18th about 7:30pm police outside talking to about 4 lads (approx 18 years). The four lads then joined the six who were already in the restaraunt and we (wife, daughter & I) were sat at the next table to them, rest of the restaraunt empty. Over the next half an hour it almost filled up.
I had the Harri Mirchi Chicken on recomendation from this site. This was just about on my upper limit, as my taste buds had been taken to a new personal best. I had a bottle of dry white wine with it.
Restaraunt: Clean, liked the design of the china.
Service: Very good, polite, pleasent and spot on timming.
Food: Up there with the best, Very good.
I will be going back.
