I went to the Ethorpe yesterday for some dinner with friends and had the Blackened Chicken Pasta. This is supposed to be Cajun chicken, according to the menu. Suffice to say it was not and was rather more along the lines of overcooked penne pasta with some cream and Thai spices, including some slices of plain chicken. Horrible and unappealing.

I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

To who? The bar was about three deep and the waiter/waitress just grabbed our plates and ran off! Saw the bloke I think Eddie complained about smoking at the end of the bar during his break - right next to a sign saying 'no smoking at the bar'!

i must admitt when i broke my arm we went to ethorpe for lunch i ordered fish it came on the bone , i could not fillet as i only had one arm, i requested that it be sent to the kitchen as technical disabled, it came back as whole not filleted and told thats the way it was served, so if you are in gerrads cross and have one arm available do not order the fish at the ethorpe as they make no exceptions to the rules... wonder why i have not been back since

Ok ..there I was this afternoon "Perched" on my usual stool in the
corner of the bar when I noticed the Chef's Blackboard special was
"Perch Fillet in a dill sauce"£10!!
Now pardon me , but I used to catch perch from latchmoor as a kid (it had water in it then)

Went there for Sunday Lunch wasn't impressed. The roast beef has no flavour and was fibrous. That went back. Replaced by turkey which was ok'ish.
