Did anyone see the overturned car on Nicol Rd. yesterday? I'm keen to find out what happened.
I've seen alot of dangerously fast driving along there. Given the proximity of schools & leisure centre, lots of kids use the footpaths (mostly) along this road. Plus, it's not very well lit.
I don't want to see speed bumps or cameras installed there - or anywhere else in the village for that matter, but some calming measures may be necessary.

It showed that speeding wasnt as big an issue on Nicol road as it was on others.

Yes... here you go
The initiative was aimed at curbing speeding violations in problem
>roads which the police had identified. These are Denham Lane, >Austenwood Lane, Joiners Lane, Lower Road, Naroct Lane and Nicol Road. > >During the week 22 – 26 January SID (Speed Indicator Device) was used >for 2 hourly periods (either morning or afternoon) in each of the roads >mentioned. > >A total of 1,202 cars were monitored driving past and their speeds were >recorded. Overall 38% of the cars were exceeding the speed limit. In >Austenwood Lane and Narcot Lane it was 54% and in Denham Lane 39%. >Interestingly, all cars slowed down once they noticed the signs. |

Speed indicator devices are actually used by some idiots to see how fast they can fly past them! I know 1 individual in particular.
