I don't know why women make a fuss about childbirth. If men had to give birth they would cut the cord, dust themselves down and be straight back out to work.

Tobic you forget we live in a very small village and we do love to quardinate all the village gossip, and after having a normal on no 1 and on no 2, 5 weeks early a emergency c section which saved both my life and no 2 i will always be gratefully to the wonderful staff an if they do move wycombe maternity unit to stokenchurch as they are suggesting it could have been a very different story . At least he would have got the morgage paid off though!. |
sorry helen but you are sadly mistaken, they are proposing to close maternity at wycombe and move patients to stoke...... not stokenchurch but stoke mandeville.....even further to travel...

Wycombe Maternity Hospitol must be very old. I myself was born there in 1942.

Condoms should be used on every conceivable occasion.

Apparently the Wycombe maternity wing is to remain open, but those who are expected to have a difficult birth are to be directed to Stoke Mandeville.

we are having baby baggles no 2 at wycombe,- we were at first told we would have to have her at wexham park.....the initial scans and things were at wexham then our midwife said we could transfer back to wycombe as the unit was not closing as early as expected...so we hope to have her at wycombe... and they are already saying if a c section is required they will do it at wycombe...as the wife knows the layout and surroundings, its said this familiarity is less traumatic plus we are under the same consultant which means faces we recognise.....
thank god they kept it open....

I was speaking to Jon Fisher about this - he's now the PR man at Amersham for the NHS - and I did get a lot of corporate spiel, 'realignment of modern nursing' and 'resource reallocation', so at least he's got the touch! I was expecting him to say 'synergy' and 'paradigm' at any moment! But good news that Wycombe is to keep its maternity unit...at least for the moment.

Carlos, if you were born at Chalfont St. Giles - was it at The Stone (the old maternity home)?
