For a bit of fantastic culture, actually enjoyed by my 10 year old, may I suggest a trip to Avebury in Wiltshire and Uffington White Horse? We went to Avebury yesterday morning ( prehistoric stone circles and avenue, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow). The circles here are better than Stonehenge, in my opinion, because you can actually touch the stones. Then lunch in the Red Lion pub (very nice and lots of info on the local pagan moot). Then down the road to the windy but wonderful White Horse hill (the Celtic one) and then to Wantage for a cream tea. A really good day out during the summer. |

Still don't know what I want to do when I grow up...

I remember when you could touch the stones at Stonehenge.
