it'd be interesting to see what happens if only a handful of people enter.

The link (via the observer link) works now and it says a firm of solicitors has confirmed that it is fair and legal and there is a link to the terms & conditions.

i heard report on radio 2 yesterday - they have covered it legally.

The current owner of the house has had it on the market for quite a long time and was just looking for another way of getting rid of it.

If they sell all the tickets he could in theory clear £1M (less vat less charity donation) and still have the house !!

Well if it's legal to set up a lottery without a licence then I'll do the same.

If you all send me £20, I'll draw a name out and that person will get 40% of the takings.

There used to be a scam using the chain letter but instead of being a bad thing, you had to send £10 or so to the person on the top or bottom or whatever it is.  This meant that if even a few people paid £10, you would still be quids in.

It was made illegal apparently.

It is definitely not legal to run a lottery without being licenced, well, over here it is'nt.

Condoms should be used on every conceivable occasion.
