they may be out of control but only because they offer the general public what they want - everything under one roof at reasonable prices, irrespective of who they exploit in the process

Its a shame, people just think of convenience, nothing else . Never mind the long term outlook for the British high street.
 
This new Tesco's in GX will ruin the area IMO.
 
P.S, soon you will also be able to buy/sell property through them too...
 
 
Or even buy a purpose built Tesco home in a purpose built Tesco village!

The tunnel extends through to the station side effectively widening what was the old bridge.
They are going to knock down the existing bridge brick walls either side of the road, and, according to the original drawings I assume it is still the same, put a mini roundabout at the top of Station Road and for the entrance to Tesco.

The area over the widened bridge will have grass and seats on the station side and a pedestrian entrance forecourt to Tesco on the other side.
