Well, Folks here is your chance to support the Chamber of Commerce and have a good meal and a great night. Friday the 23rd of September at the Community Centre, 8 o clock kick off, curry supper served at 8.15, then the band Trampoline, the orginal band members were school mates in the 60's and began their first band called the Telstars way back then, they have played at the Lyceum ballroom in front of 2000 people on a revolving stage! they have supported the Spectres(early status quo) and the who. The orginal member of the band is a direct decendant of the classical composer Elgar, his brother was the famous band called the Tangerine dream back in the 60's. They play a variety of music, Excelling at vocal harmony stuff like the Bee Gees and the Beatles/beetles! since pierre joined, they have added some newer oldies such as "Comfortable numb" by Pink Floyd and Crazy little thing called love by Queen, and they rock it up with some classic rock and roll, they are going to donate their fee to COC There is 150 tickets available first come first served, today i have sold 22 at £20 pounds ahead, please make cheques payable to the chamber of commerce and either e-mail me and i will post or collect from Fake it, its going to rock so dont miss it Edited by DanW |

I probed the boss for a bit more info on the band history... not that much to tell really he said... oh! we did play some backing tracks for a film. WOW! really I said... yeah it was called "The ups and downs of a handyman" then he laughed! "bit weird" I thought, until I looked it up on the internet... it was a soft porn film in the style of "confessions of..." !! I haven't managed to find a link that lists the film crew and names the music... if you can find one I'd love to see it. I just found this poster...

ahh! Bob Todd... a very underrated and almost forgotten comedy legend... I remember him advertising meat paste and shouting "it's beef!" dressed in a suit and bowler!! (pre 1970?) |

We have made the front page, what it I wonted it to say was for residents to give aone off donation of anything they can afford from £1.00, as with over 12 thousand people a small amount from everyone would make a huge difference. Money made payable to the chamber of commerce or put in collection box, that will be in certain shops. Edited by Helen |

Well done Helen - have just seen the front page of the Bucks Ad! As Brian was talking about, do we want to start a separate section for the COC for all news, views and fundraising? |
|
I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.
