Was thinking how the village used to be at Christmas.
Who remembers the competition for kid. Going from shop front to shop front, looking for mistakes. A form could be picked up from the post-office. To enter. You had to find the mistake. Eg the barber would have a can of peas, the papershop should have a bunch of carrots. The greengrocer would have a comb. Not as easy as it may look, with all the condensation up the inside of the window. |

Going back a bit anyone remember Upphams the bakers, They made wonderful Christmas biscuits covered in silver balls a simple memory but part of Chalfont child's Christmas Past.
