Hello, I had a young man knock on the door this evening about 7.30 telling me he was an ex-offender on probation, doing some door to door selling. Said he was from Middlesborough! He was quite convincing, told me he was nervous, was having a bad day and held his hand up to show me he was shaking. I didn't buy anything off him, as it didn't ring true. However, it got me thinking, is there a way I can check if this was legit? If not, concerned for others in the village who may not be as suspicious as my cynical old self. Did anyone else experience this today?

He knocked on our door at about 7:50. I politely told him unfortunately I wasn't interested. As he left he kindly pointed out that I had left my key in my front door (which indeed I had done so) |

I'm sure plenty of that is true, but what is also true is that the guy was honest enough to tell me I had left my key in the front door |
