Anyone know what happened in the village this afternoon? My wife saw a load of police cars outside the Vantage Chemist as she came back through this afternoon at 3.30ish.

This info was sent to the Chamber yesterday..

Not sure if everyone is aware but there was a vehicle accident at the pelican crossing today involving a lady in a car with child and an idiot on a scooter.
Car driver un hurt but badly shaken as the scooter ran into the back right hand side of the car which had stopped at the crossing to allow a pedestrian to cross.
Scooter was driving erratically prior to running into the car.
The scooter driver ran off and got back on the scooter after a short pause (looks like it was stolen) and hurtled up to Gold Hill.
He is local and lives in the village as he was asking for a lift then realised people noticed the scooter. The Police are very interested in finding this boy who failed to stop after the accident.
He was wearing dark grey sweatpants, dark grey hoodie with white trainers and grey trainers. His crash helmet is the flip top type (so looks open faced) black with bright yellow flashes on the side. The helmet also had an internal sun visor a bit like Judge Dread.
He was also wearing a black ski mask under the helmet, so will be obviously known to several people in the village.
One thing to note, he hurt his left lower leg badly (possible fracture) and cut his left hand, so if you know anyone or see anyone fitting this description call 101.
