Although it has had little publicity, tomorrow is Gerrards Cross Summer Fete. There will be craft and food stalls etc all down Packhorse Rd and Station Rd and most of the GX shops will be open late.

Gerrards Cross Book Shop will be launching the latest book by local author DJ Kelly:

'BUCKINGHAMSHIRE SPIES AND SUBVERSIVES'

Buckinghamshire has a 600 year history of subversion, sedition and espionage. The county has been home to radical plotters, agents provocateurs and informers. Two World Wars brought spies, secret agents and saboteurs to the county, and saw us training our own - many of these being celebrities from the film and literary worlds.

Many of our stately homes housed code-breakers, eavesdroppers, boffins, intelligence chiefs and even a few Nazis. A surprising number of female spies were held in the county, and the first use of covert surveillance photography was directed against local women. From religious martyrs and gunpowder plotters to Cold War atomic secrets traitors and the domestic terrorists of modern times - this county has seen it all.

DJ Kelly will be at GX Book Shop to sign copies of her book between 6pm and 9pm tomorrow night.

Well do come and support a non-posh Chalfont St Peter author anyway, Larry.
