I am interested in what our readers think of our
current coverage.

If anyone has time, I would be delighted if they could
give a quick review of the newspaper as it stands.

Do you buy the Advertiser?
If not, why not?
What sections do people read most?
What do people think of our news coverage?
What do people think of sports coverage?
Do people read the Community Voice section?
What would you like to see covered?
Would you like to see more indepth features?
Would you like to see a nostalgia page looking back
at events in the past?
What do people think of our photographs?
Would you like to see more or less pictures of
school events etc?

Any responses, however short, would be
appreciated.

If anyone wants to respond in greater detail, please
feel free to e-mail me or call me at the office.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Do you buy the Advertiser? - Yes, for local news and sport
What sections do people read most? - All of it
What do people think of our news coverage? - Very good, you can't make news up if it hasn't happened or someone hasn't told you.
What do people think of sports coverage? - Is very diverse but often very brief, would like to see a cricket scores section from the weekend, just a who beat who and scores, no stats.
Do people read the Community Voice section? - Rarely. It seems to be the same every week!
Would you like to see more indepth features? - Yes, but unsure as to which issues!
Would you like to see a nostalgia page looking back
at events in the past? - I think this would be great - a 5/10/25/50 year small section of what was making the headlines then.
What do people think of our photographs? - I think they supplement the stories well where used.
Would you like to see more or less pictures of
school events etc? - People like to see themselves/kids in the paper so I doubt you could reduce this. WOuld be nice if they came with more of a story than just the first day at school
I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

Do you buy the Advertiser?
If not, why not?

Yes I buy the Advertiser every week.
What sections do people read most?

What do people think of our news coverage?

Would like see a follow up on some previous news.

What do people think of sports coverage?

Do people read the Community Voice section?

I think the format could be changed. Maybe bolder headings.

What would you like to see covered?

A teen guide. Plenty in there for the older or mother and toddler groups. nothing in there saying whats going on for the teenagers. Reviews by teenagers.

Would you like to see more indepth features?

Would you like to see a nostalgia page looking back
at events in the past?

A bit here and there. Not a regular slot. Maybe to remember certain dates, occasions and people. I would like to read more historic news about our village and surrounding areas.

What do people think of our photographs?

Good

Would you like to see more or less pictures of
school events etc

Schools need your press coverage. It adds to the local feel of our paper.

Jingle bells....

Do you buy the Advertiser? Most weeks.
If not, why not? When I don't get to the shops.
What sections do people read most? News, reviews, planning apps.
What do people think of our news coverage? Good.
What do people think of sports coverage? Good but more Wasps, Wycombe Wanderers.
Do people read the Community Voice section? The format makes me skip through it, as I have read some of it is previous issues. More difined headings to pick out each article separately.
What would you like to see covered? Section with a youth input, to appeal to 15-20 ish year olds.
Would you like to see more indepth features? No I think you do well.
Would you like to see a nostalgia page looking back at events in the past? Photo with a local history and story attached. You can see the interest a old photo on the forum attracts. There is quite a bit of interest in the history of the village, and still people who live here who could give first hand accounts.
What do people think of our photographs? I feel the balance between story/photo is good.
Would you like to see more or less pictures of school events etc? I like to see and hear what is going on  in the schools. And getting your picture in the paper when you are young is part of growing up.

Do people read the Community Voice section?  - not usually

Do you buy the Advertiser?  yup!

What sections do people read most? News and Sarahs blab!
What do people think of our news coverage? no less than what one would expect from a local rag.
What do people think of sports coverage? I don't read sport
Do people read the Community Voice section? sometimes

Would you like to see more indepth features? no
Would you like to see a nostalgia page looking back
at events in the past? yes
What do people think of our photographs? it's a local paper not Hello, Adequate. b&w would be a novelty these days!
Would you like to see more or less pictures of
school events etc? no, a good balance I'd say

all in all a pretty good local read. I did prefer the wednesday edition, back in't old days!...

go out and knock on someones door and ask them a set of topical questions, and give a bouquet as a thank you.

send a reporter up to Rock house. get him/her to ask the older generations about chalfont in the last century... you would get an amazing history lesson!!!

I agree with the above, the village voice section is totally boring and drab, just pages of text, i buy every week for the last five years i have maybe read/skimmed this section twice. It needs re formatting and some intrest/humour put into it ie local gardening society were caught with green fingers when touching mrs smiths giant sunflower and found that she....
