I thought it was a post running indefinitely for contacting the Advertiser?

Sorry, think I should probably close this thread now, very out of date.

I am also surprised that I can't find the Advertiser on Facebook, surely this is a gold mine fo info and topical stories.

I hope you guys at the Advertiser are on to this parking issue that has come to the boil at present, I trust you will be fully supportive although I think only the BFP were at the recent NAG meeting. Perhaps you can be the conduit for a photographic record of the worst examples of dangerous or inconsiderate parking. Something must be done and we need as much help as possible.

There's a massive snowman along Lower Road with a great smile between
Hill rise and School Lane, worth a picture.

I emailed details of Robertswood School's Strawberry Fayre to you two weeks before the event. Included in the email were my details, including contact number. I would have thought it only polite that if you realise you cannot possibly cover an event, you would have contacted me to let me know. Strange as it may seem, taking photos doesn't register as a huge priority to the organisers on the day, but I'm sure that if I had known about the problem in advance, that I could have asked others to take appropriate photos and send them through to you. And what a shame that you could manage CSP infants but not Robertswood on the same day - or was that something to do with the fact that they had Linford Christie to open it? I would have thought your photographer could have spent 45 minutes at one event and then gone on to the other? Last year you gave us a write up before and after the event - this year you couldn't even be bothered to write a few words at either stage. Shame on you Luke...How sad that the Bucks Ad has decided to ignore the least visible primary school in CSP yet again, whilst the CSPVA has given us more support than ever this year.

I should imagine that these school fairs generate a lot of sales of newspapers.

Good Morning,
Many thanks for your comments. Unfortunately our reporters were not able to attend every summer fair, fete or event over the last couple of months. Some of the ones we have covered include Chalfont Fair, Denham Fair, GX Fun Run, C St P CofE School Fair, Jordans Fair, Seer Green Cherry Pie Fair, C St P Feast Day, C St P Infants School Fair, C St Giles Strawberry Fair, Chiltern Cheshire Fete, Beaconsfield Awareness Day, Stoke Poges Fair, Fulmer Day - I expect I have missed a few off the list. For any we can't attend, we urge people to send their own photos and words in, and we will gladly try to get a write-up into the paper. I would also urge anyone who contacts the paper to follow up on emails with a phone call. We are flooded by emails every day, and sadly, the system does on occasion fail and emails are sometimes lost. The current team of reporters is: Luke Cross Ben Smith Sean O'Hare We are all very keen to hear from you and can be contacted on 01753 888333. We do try to keep an eye on the forum - and as Sarah kindly pointed out, we hope it will encourage people to discuss stories or call in. Look forward to hearing from you. Luke |

The post doesn't say contact through the site, but actually puts the phone number first. I was still with the paper when it was posted, and the idea was to encourage people to phone the newsroom, and hope people would use this section to discuss stories etc. I can't say what the situation is about monitoring the forum from the Chalfont office these days, as I don't work there any more. Peter doesn't work for the paper, or in fact the company any more. The editor is Julie Voyce and her e-mail is julievoyce@trinitysouth.co.uk. But as I said, if you desperately need to speak with someone, the only way to guarantee this 100 per cent is on the phone. |
