Yes I agree a polite notice works better
And yes you can't say don't park here when you legally can In a way it's better having a note than parking in areas where they would just vandalise your car I had that a year or so ago I parked half on a pavement to collect something only to find my car keyed from front to back |

Thanks everyone. Just like BobbleHead, I also live in CSP and have cars parking outside my house. If they were in a poor position I might leave a note to say 'can you leave my drive clear', but not a blanket 'you can't park here'.

I agree with bobble head
My view is would you want someone to do this outside your house ? And yes you are legally allowed to park there but as bobblehead says sometimes people are inconsiderate I lived in hedgerley and the rugby played on the green every Sunday Some were just plain rude and inconsiderate And not all people around Gx are snobs |

Hi Mikechagas. Of course if there are no parking restrictions and you are parking considerately then you should continue to park there. People can get really ruffled over nothing.
To balance things a bit though I live in CSP on a road where people often park to visit a local business and to walk up to the industrial units to work for the day as there are no parking restrictions. Mostly people park fine however regularly I have people park very close to the edge of my drive which means that I can not see properly to pull off the drive to get onto the road, or they park opposite me which means that again I can have trouble safely leaving the property. I can exit and they aren't doing anything wrong, it's all above board but they just look and see, yes I'm not blocking anything but they are not actually thinking of the mechanics of how someone parked in a property can manouver safely. Sometimes people park so badly that I am essentially nosing out with such a limited view that I feel unsafe. It may be worth just taking a few mins to really look about where you are parking to see if you are causing someone a problem that might not be immediately obvious to you. It's funny how a small thing can blow up as a big thing in someone mind!!! Maybe you could mix it up and park in various spots on the street? You seem like a thoughtful bloke so I'm not suggesting you are being difficult it's just I know how frustrated I get with the parking on my own street, sometimes irrationally so!!! Like when people park in disabled spaces, mother and baby spaces, oh god thats a whole new rant!!! |

Typical.
I remember once escorting a group of schoolkids down a GX road and one of the kids put a sweet wrapper in a skip that was positioned in someones driveway. Woman opens upstairs window and demands that the wrapper be removed from her skip. Unbelievable!! |

stand yer ground, if they have an issue, it's something they should take up with the parish or south bucks councils.
