I am interested in 'housing' some of the many celebs who've lived in CSP over time. Grateful if anyone can add more names and pinpoint where they lived. For instance, 'Dad's Army' actor, John Laurie lived at Southfield, bottom of Woodside Hill for many years; Dame Margaret Rutherford lived in Joiners Lane (anyone know if her bungalow, 'Hatfield', is still standing or where it was located - local directory states nr Chestnut Close?); authoress Elizabeth Coxhead lived at 2 School Lane; Patrick O'Brien (author of Master & Commander series) was born at a house named Walden on Packhorse (before GX came into existence - same applies to children's author Capt Mayne Reid, who had a Mexican ranch built on Oxford Rd).

Oh and the Duchess of Sutherland lived at the top of Rickmansworth Lane, at Horn Hill, near the Dumbell, in a house named Gellibrands, which still stands. Anyone have any more to add?

Ah yes, Lewis Collins, the Scouse one from The Professionals (starred with Martin Shaw) - he owned Mopes Farm for a time.
Then of course we had Ozzie Osbourne & family (also Welders Lane?) - not sure if they still maintain their house there or if they've moved entirely to USA? |
