In recent months, Theft from motor vehicles has peaked, not only in Chalfont St Peter, but all Chilterns, causing concern for motorists and other members of the public.

Thames Valley Police, along with Bucks County Council have produced a form which is filled in by either a member of the Neighbourhood Police Team or the council if any items seen that may be perceived to be of value are on display.

If a vehicle has a pair of sunglasses on the dashboard, a jacket on the rear seats or even small loose change in the ashtray. The officer will take details of the time, date, vehicle registration and items on display. This will then be forwarded to our very own Chalfont St Peter Volunteer Jen Shraga who collates all the forms from the area and sends letters out to those registered owners of the vehicle, in an attempt to educate and reduce break in's to vehicles.
