Still as friendly too.
There are 2 Thai restaurants at Denham Green, both equally good IMO, but the Country Thai is less pricey.

Went to the three Pigeons a couple of weeks ago - the food was really good again - we were a returning customer after visiting in September, the service was good despite it being pretty busy and overall it'll be top of the list to return to if we go out for a meal again in the near future.

D'you know, I went to 3P last week, and have to say it was very ordinary. I really wanted to have a bit of seasoning on my food - a pretty basic omission for a chef to make. Such a disappointment as it looked very promising.

I've always found the 3 Pigs food (under the new ownership) very average. There is nothing wrong with it but nothing particular to recommend it either, the menu is uninspiring and the atmosphere rather sterile.
Having said all of that it is far better than it was, the beer (real ale) in there is excellent and I prefer it to The Village Hall, whih I think has lost its way. |

I Was there last night with 2 relatives, it was their decision to eat there.....what a mistake....- we went through to the restaraunt area to eat,
it was a sunday evening about 7-30....the place was not busy.... about 8 other diners in there at the time - service was ordinary, but we ordered our meals , 5 minutes later the 'youth' who was doubling as the waiter came back and said 2 of the 4 starters ordered were no longer available.... we made alternative choices and we thought that was that,
the starters arrived and the squid ordered by the wife was really plain, about 8 rings of battered squid, a few leaves as a 'salad bed' and some dressing....not exactly exciting or value for money...
my black pudding and bacon salad was a better option.....
then the main courses came, the aberdeen angus burger ordered by my relative at £10 came and was undercooked- the middle of the burger was raw, not badly ccooked, blatantly raw, he ate half and left it, the other dish ordered was the fish and chips, the rebellion beer batter was oil soaked and unnattractive, - the oil obviously needed changing or at least filtering !!!
the only dish that was ok was the sardines/ salad.... but you cant really get that wrong can you !
by the time we had our main courses served there was no one else eating , everyone had gone.... the staff were sweeping the floor and cleaning around us as we were eating !- we made our feelings known but it was dreadful, the staff did not take one bit of notice..... not a pleasent environmet to eat a dinner with someone mopping your shoes !
as the plates were cleared it was pointed out hte burger was raw and food should not be served like that, the youth seemd totally dissinterested, he also said he would 'tell the chef'- big deal- the chef should cook the food in the first place...
so we finished the wine and drinks and decided to go as soon as possible-we did not want to stay for desert !!!!, we paid the bill and my relatives felt obliged to leave a tip ( no way i was going to as the service was mediocre at best ) regretfully they actually left a tip... upon leaving my relative decided to go to the gents, as he opened the door 2 more staff were mopping the floor, they said he could not use the lavatory as they were cleaning !
he explained that was totally unacceptable and as a result they decided to escort him into the ladies so he could use the facilities, the staff were rude and thought this situation was funny and joked at his expense- i call it bloody awful customer service.....
so enraged with this poor service my relative came out of the ladies spoke to the gent behind the bar explained his dissatisfaction ! he got his tip back !!!!
sorry but the 3 pigs is on the way downhill as far as i am concerned, i wont ever use it again,
they dont appear to give a toss about customer service ( well not last night anyway)
i would not recommend it to anyone ....

I've not eaten there. The veggie option is average to say the least and not worth the money. I went for a drink there the other night, but it's not really a pub any more. Doubt I would go back again. Given the other closest pub to me (the Village Hall) struggled to find a clean glass to serve my drink in when I went in there some months ago I am more inclined to drink at home with friends.

the village hall is currently undergoing a refurb too, was in there on friday last week, strong smell of fresh paint !
but you are so correct about 3 pigs, its really not a ' pub' at all and the only thing they have to offer is food, and we now know from our experience thats pretty dire as is the service which we felt is poor and its all massively overpriced in our experience too.....
not much to recommend about it as a business or a place to go !- and you have trouble trying to go for a pee !
