Just thought you might like to know who some of the people are in the Lovell Road street party.

The lady in the front of the photo on the left with her back to the camera is my Nan Olive Jones (lived at 81 Lovell Road). The boy next to her(to her right) is her son David Jones and his twin sister Diane is at the back of the photo sitting in front of the older lady who has her arms folded. I think the lady who is holding a plate just in front and to the right of Hazel is Doreen Mctee or Mcteague

The  Broadway Cinema    was still operatingin in the early fifties, I  spent many hours in there after the  war years.  The building after Claydons the green grocers was as you say the toilets , then comes the  cinema,  there are two entries,  between the two doorways  you can see the glass case on the wall that advertised  comming events  inside  each doorway was a large carpeted foyer with stairs ,the ticket office was positioned at the top of the stairs, another foyer ran lengh ways back from the market place to the building that borders Churchfield lane which is on the extreme right ,this was the actual cinema  the two windows onthe far right of the photo were where the projectors were,  the cinema screen was at Claydons end  a fire exit door was on Chuchfield road, Next to the cinemas right entry is a ramp that runs up behind  the billboard  to a porch which is to the right of telephone pole.this was the entry into the hall  which  Iwould go for tap and ballet classes, it  also served as the working mens club

I only paid 2 pounds for the menu, which was excellent, mind you postage to Australia doesn't come cheap.

I am hoping to catch up with Forum members in July, as I am coming back to England for a visit (1st time in 37 years)!!  Will post a separate message shortly to let you know when I will be in CSP and hopefully catch up.
