Here is a picture my Dad took of a Red Kite flying over Chalfont on Saturday, it is a bit far away I know but you can tell it is a Red Kite.

Yep thats a kite alright..i spend a fair bit of time in Risborough and Stokenchurch, theres loads of them there..they are turely beautiful.
My avatar is discribed as "doggy"...its not quite what i had in mind..

Ive seen them over Chalfont for over a year now, most of the time they are high up in the air, saw one last week which was flying low being hassled by a magpie, the kite did not seem bothered or did it take offensive action, it just got on with gliding on the thermals

Yep - a Red Kite has a very distinctive V-shaped tail...Dan Dan's bird is definitely one of these...but don't worry folks, they are carrion eaters so bunnies etc should be safe!
Still don't know what I want to do when I grow up...
