I remember once taking the twins, aged about two
then, on a run down the common on an old wooden
alpine sledge... ended up on the golf course. At
Harewood Downs. Don't make em like that any
more.

I think the last time it snowed decently, I called afriend of mine at about 5.30am, went round to his house and went sledging until the kids showed up - at about 9.30 - by which time we had basically compacted all the snow into an altogether more dangerous ice pack! I think I was 23 at the time! We then spent most of the rest of the morning helping cars get up Nicol Rd; by the Chung Ying especially.

It's a free country, adopt whatever PC stance you want. Just don't tell me which stance I should take just because it clashes with your opinion.

Last time it snowed decently we wandered down to the common when the
pub shut and slid down not so effectively on carrier bags..having
planted the wine bottle in the snow to keep it cold..
I don't mind the cold but I'm a bit worried about it snowing. I've
heard the story of two winters ago many a time at work; people had to
sleep in the canteen because the roads were gridlocked. I'm hoping that
if it snows properly I can "work" from home, I just don't want to lose
any holiday because of the weather!

It's the people who got stuck on the motorways for 12 hours or so I felt sorry for.

Just had this email from the Property Management Team:
Staff who live in remote/rural areas should consider leaving site by 3.30pm.
All other staff should leave by 4.45pm to avoid congestion on the site and the surrounding area.
Plan your journey into work tomorrow according to the latest weather updates.
Do you think Chalfont counts as remote/rural?
