Has anyone any photos from the floods a few years back?

I'm partcularly interested in:

1 The water meadows on the way towards St G. (Up as far as, say, Misbourne Avenue).

2 The Scout Hut

3 The Greyhound

4 The High Street

Thanks.  Please feel free to PM me if you like.

Paul

Paul, I have a photo of the flood up the High Street, but it's not in 'electronic' format I'm afraid simply a print, can you work from that?

Jill,

Hi.  That was quick!  Thank you for the offer. Sure I can work from a print - just scan 'n' go!

Let's wait and see what else turns up on the forum, and then I could well be back in touch.

Paul I did go out for a walk with my camera (35mm) but cannot remember what I took. I will have a look and see.

You must have lots in your life - to be reduced to taking pictures of your flooded kitchen. Your house must be a laugh a minute.

Is this to assist the fight against the evil NSE?

Malc,

Let me say straight off that I do not consider the NSE evil.  Not at all.  They have my respect for much of the stuff they undertake. But as far as their ‘site redevelopment plans’ are concerned, I consider them over-egged, misleading and detrimental to many people, including the interests of their own residents.

So ‘Yes’ – the photos were in opposition.  The flooding was massive.  The raw sewerage was unpleasant and unhealthy and 700+ extra folk would obviously not help (further information on the SENSE Website).  But now the planning appeal has gone away from the local area, I’m not sure an independent inspector would realise how significant those floods were.

Hence the photo request.

Paul
