Are you complaining about the paper dedicating the entire front page to this story? Or that you have to phone

I reckon that bloke is a pianist...! So did he ring the venue to say he was going to be late?.... arrange a dep to fill? or just moan about it! I actually have first hand experience of letting venues down! as soon as I get a whiff of that bloke "Tong" I am onto the venue asking if they have a dep band available at short notice... if not then I am frantically ringing mates and mates of mates... most times something can be sorted. When you don't show, or offer a plausable explaination is when you don't get booked again, and he's a solo artist, I had 5 musicians to organise. ! ...And why is his head glued to a timetable?!

It's a free country, adopt whatever PC stance you want. Just don't tell me which stance I should take just because it clashes with your opinion. |

Sid ..to summarise (perhaps someone at the Bucks Ad could paste the
article here),the entire front page was devoted to a story about a
bloke who was late for work because he was given the wrong train times.
Now, my beefs are as follows: 1 "Man late for work" is hardly a news story let alone a whole front page story. I think Pierre covered the guy's stupidity very well. 2 the way the fact that the call centre is in India was used in the "story" is worthy of the daily Mail. I have no desire to get involved in political discussions regarding outsourcing of jobs, but is it really relevant? Oh ..and a 10 second look at the Chiltern website this morning found this, which has been there for weeks:

I am against this policy of exporting jobs to places like India. Initially only those with a good command of English were employed but I notice more and more how difficult it is to communicate as pronouciation and abilty to speak the English language no longer seems to be a requirement of the job.

thank god for the internet...... cant be doing with these overseas call centres, recently called the national savings helpline, to find out about some investments, found out i was talking to someone thousands of miles away who could not pronounce chalfont st peter, so i got details of how i can deal directly with my investments on line, - far easier, far happier now......even with the risk of identity theft.....
