The 'jazz' singer was back outside again last night

Went with some of the Mums from school for a meal last night and it was mobbed! Food was ok but I won't be rushing back!

sad, they do not have enough staff, will cost them in long run. You will tell at least 10 people about a bad experience and only 2 about a good one??. we are truly british.

I did a mystery shopper survey on it this time last year and it passed with flying colours but seems to have gone downhill a bit over the last year!

I haven't been in the Ethorpe for awhile cause in the past when I have been there the food hasn't been very nice.  The Village Hall at the top of Gold Hill common has always been quite nice!  Food to a good standard very tasty

Last two times we've been to the Ethorpe the food has been fantastic.

The problem was the lack of bar staff which was presumably down the staff sickness, but the food was great.

Just a pain having to spend so long ordering it.

Went there for an organised Christmas bash for 20.

Food was at least OK, beer and wine were good (hangover was moderately good!) staff were good and atmosphere was good.  Wallet damage very reasonable.

So for a first visit I have to say it exceeded expectations.

I live super close to the place but haven't been in to eat for a while. They have changed the snack menu slightly in that you now have to pay extra for chips rather than them coming as standard. They have added duck to their baguette menu which was tasty but could've done with more hoi sin sauce. According to Fans the mussels portion was a bit meagre in comparison to other local establishments. I was impressed however when one of our party (aged 5) spilt the coke and the staff cleared it up straight away and replaced it with a new one free of charge..

Had another good dinner in the Ethorpe on Sunday, although the chicken dish differed slighted from the description on the menu. I can recommend the banana waffle for dessert..
