you will need:

1 fresh crusty loaf of bread

1 tub of butter

1 tube of crab paste

method:

slice the fresh crusty bread into 1" (25.4mm) slices

spread the butter fairly thickly onto the bread

apply crab paste to thickly buttered slices of bread

enjoy with a glass or 10 of stella.

(should your sandwiches have a strangley "surgical" flavour, purchase your next tube of crab paste from a grocer, rather than a pharmacy.)

It's a free country, adopt whatever PC stance you want. Just don't tell me which stance I should take just because it clashes with your opinion.

Pierre, I was  taking it all in until  I came to the last line. Very good. But seriously crab sandwiches are  great mixed with a good quality mayonnaise, squeeze of lemon &  a sprinklimg of black pepper.

Today I had a lovely simple sandwich made of slices of black pudding and a hard-fried egg covered with lashings of brown sauce, delicious.

Any recipes out there would be appreciated, I've still to finish my book.
