I was sorry to read about the passing of Bobby Jolowicz (sp?) a couple of weeks back, but it kept slipping my mind to post on here. I have many memories of Bobby sitting in the community centre during the Festival season, sometimes nodding off if he had seen the play too many times or if it was just too boring for him! He once suggested that he would have liked to have nodded off during one of my plays, but the gunfire and explosions kept him awake! His reviews always understood the limtations of local theatre (like not having somewhere to build or store scenery), a fact which often escaped the Adjudicator - Big Dave will tell you the story about that one, I'm sure.

Farewell Bobby, thanks for all the kind reviews!

I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems scary and weird.

You spelt it right Dan.
Bobby was indeed one of a kind and a genuinely
lovely guy.
Peter, myself and the sports editor Jill are the only
three here now who really knew him.
For me it was a personal pleasure to write the tribute
pieces because he not only contributed to the
Advertiser, he was also a great part of the Gerrards
Cross and Chalfont St Peter community.
Feeling fond of Chalfont

He was a lovely man who I only met when I was much younger (go back ...........................years) I always read his reviews , because often they were probably more nteresting than the piece being reviewed
They say Kesey's dead; But never trust a prankster;even underground.
