Wasn't sure about this Beefeater epecially as there was no-one to great us as we entered but the food soon made up for the lack of welcome.

I can see that this will not be to everyones taste, the decor is quite dark and the restaurant relatively small, but the food was fine. Typical Beefeater menu but the steak was superb and perfectly cooked. (and I mean it, one of the best steaks I've had, and I've had a few).

Service was friendly and for a Monday night, there were quite a few people were in.

Whether I go back I am not sure only because I am not sure it's somewhere I'd take someone if going out, but for a non occasion meal out, then it's fine.

The Apple Tree used to be my regular. In fact Mr and Mrs Eddie are featured on the postcard sitting in the garden

its a feceless steak joint,  dont like em, too much deep fried stuff and too much 'reheated pasta and alternatives'

shame but it seems the ability to cook is going out the window, any fool can shove stuff in a microwave.......

 but each to their own

Last time Dan and I went it was horrdendous. The food took FOREVER to arrive and when it did the steak was cold and very tough and they burnt the coffee.

The food we had was excellent and all freshly cooked.  Maybe they've had a change of Manager or Chef.
